Bonding and Veneers

Are there things about your smile that you’d like to change? Discolorations, chips, and other minor cosmetic issues may not necessarily affect the health of your smile, but they can still have an impact on how you feel about the way you look as well as how others perceive you.

There is no shortage of statistics on the impact your smile has on your life. It’s one of the first features people notice about you, and people who smile more are said to live longer. If you aren’t smiling as often as you could be because you’re afraid of what people might think about your smile or you’re unhappy with the way it looks, it’s time to give us a call so we can discuss the options available from AZ Cosmetic and Family Dentistry.

Smile makeovers are a big part of what we do here, and you might be surprised to learn that improving the appearance of your smile doesn’t necessarily involve a huge amount of dental work. Two procedures we offer, bonding and veneers, can create an impressive difference in the way your smile looks, giving you flawless and beautiful teeth in a very short amount of time.

Bonding

Bonding can be used to fix small chips and cracks, fill in cavities or other areas damaged by decay, change the shape of your teeth, and conceal small areas of discoloration.

Dental bonding requires very little in the way of tooth preparation, making this a highly conservative way to improve the appearance of your teeth.

Bonding can be done in a single visit and is one of the most affordable methods of improving the appearance of your smile. Numbing is usually not required, and following your appointment, you can expect to continue your day with your usual activities.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are often the secret behind the flawless smiles of movie stars and other celebrities. Fortunately, Veneers have become more available and more affordable than ever, allowing just about everyone to have a Hollywood-quality smile.

Two different types of veneers are available – those that require that your teeth be prepped for the veneers and those that don’t. At your appointment, we’ll discuss which option is right for you, which will depend on the issues you wish to fix and your overall goals.

Placing veneers usually requires two visits. At your first visit, we will do any necessary tooth prep and take photos and impressions to send to the lab that will be creating your veneers. When your veneers are complete, you can then return to our office to have them bonded in place.

While veneers can fix a number of the same issues as dental bonding can, they do have an advantage. Because of the porcelain material and the slightly translucent quality of the veneers, veneers look even more natural than bonding. In fact, most people will never know your secret!
